Post-C-Section Pain Management with the Enhanced Recovery after Surgery and Multimodal Analgesia Methods: A Case Series
نویسندگان
چکیده
Introduction: This study aims to present the management of postoperative c-section pain using multimodal analgesia.
Case presentation: There were two patients who received analgesia as a treatment for C-section pain. The first patient, woman 15 years old, will undergo Caesarean section operation with indications G1P0A0, term pregnancy, and cephalopelvic disproportion (CPD). second 23-year-old woman, 1x umbilical cord. Physical examination both showed vital signs within normal limits. Laboratory evaluation Both included in ASA II category. anesthetic method used intraoperatively was subarachnoid block hyperbaric bupivacaine 0.5% 10 mg morphine 50 mcg. Lidocaine infiltration injection is performed combination following; lidocaine 2% (3 ampoules), dexamethasone 4 mg, ketorolac 60 4000 mcg dissolved aquabides into 20 ml subcutaneously.
Conclusion: A an appropriate approach undergoing cesarean section.

Multimodal Pain Management Protocol Versus Patient Controlled Narcotic Analgesia for Postoperative Pain Control after Shoulder Arthroplasty
Background: Our institution’s traditional pain management strategy after shoulder arthroplasty has involved the utilization of postoperative patient-controlled narcotic analgesia. More recently, we have implemented a protocol (TLC) that utilizes a multimodal approach. The purpose of this study was to determine whether this change has improved pain control and decreased narcotic utilization. ...
متن کاملPostoperative pain management after ambulatory surgery: role of multimodal analgesia.
Multimodal (or balanced) analgesia represents an increasingly popular approach to preventing postoperative pain. The approach involves administering a combination of opioid and nonopioid analgesics. Nonopioid analgesics are increasingly being used as adjuvants before, during, and after surgery to facilitate the recovery process after ambulatory surgery. Early studies evaluating approaches to fa...
متن کاملRandomized comparison of effectiveness of unimodal opioid analgesia with multimodal analgesia in post–cesarean section pain management
BACKGROUND Postoperative pain leads to patient discomfort, decreased level of satisfaction, prolonged recovery, and higher health costs. Acute pain control therefore improves the overall quality of life in patients undergoing cesarean section. Pain relief is a fundamental human right, but there is no gold standard for post-cesarean section pain management. OBJECTIVE To compare the efficacy of...
متن کاملOptimizing pain management to facilitate Enhanced Recovery After Surgery pathways.
PURPOSE The optimal management of postoperative pain using multimodal analgesia is a key component of Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS). Pain has adverse clinical implications on postoperative recovery, including prolonging the time to recovery milestones and length of hospital stay. Moreover, the ubiquity of opioids in postoperative analgesic regimens results in adverse effects, such as s...
